INFO

Don't need comms?

If you don't need a communications system, you can still purchase the helmet without any comms, you can also select the Peltor Ear Cups only option when configuring your helmet. This will still protect your hearing from the sound of the motor. We highly recommend ear cups for your helmet.

Sidetone allows you to hear yourself while transmitting, helps you speak at the correct volume. Many pilots do without sidetone, though it is helpful for newer pilots.

Aviation radios are rarely used in powered paragliding. However, if you fly at an airport or congested airspace, you may need the Deluxe Com, compatible with many aviation radios including Icom and Vertex. The General Aviation 2 pin connector (CB13) enables you to use with GA intercoms.

*The only aviation radios that currently work with Sena Bluetooth are aviation radios with Bluetooth built in. Sena does not manufacture cables that connect aviation radios to the SR10 or Tufftalk. Here are the aviation radios we've found that have Bluetooth... Rexon and NavCom. We are not including links because the links may change as manufacturers update their radios.

Let us help you choose

No: If you don't need to communicate with other pilots, you can just select the Peltor Earcups for $30 when you order your helmet. You need a helmet that can offer hearing protection and most motorcycle helmets do now provide enough protection. Select any of the three helmet options and add the $30 Peltor Earcups. You won't need to select anything else while checking out.

Yes: Many pilots like to communicate with each other while they fly. The two most common ways to communicate are via two-way radio or Bluetooth. Check with your local flying community or talk to your instructor to see what is common in your area. If you just need to communicate via two-way radio, we recommend selecting the Standard Comms or Deluxe Comms for your helmet. If you need to communicate via Bluetooth or you want the option of both methods, select one of the Bluetooth options.

Please note that if you select the Sena 10R or Sena 30k and you plan on using a two-way radio in addition to Bluetooth, you will need the additional SR 10 Bluetooth Radio Adaptor + the proper radio cable for your specific brand two-way radio.

No: Some pilots communicate via Bluetooth only or they call each other over the phone and have the phone connected via Bluetooth to the helmet. In this case, you don't need a two-way radio.

No, but I want one: We don't sell two-way radios but we've noticed the BaoFeng UV-5R is extremely popular and it's durable and affordable. Only $25 on Amazon. If you purchase this radio, you'll select the CB02 cable option for your helmet.

Yes: If you already have a two-way radio, look at the chart below to select the proper cable for your brand of radio.

These are the most common brands. For a full list, please browse down and select the "full list" option. Please contact us if you have any questions.

No: You can just select the Standard Comms or the Deluxe Comms option and then select the proper cable to use with your two-way radio.

Yes: Select one of the 3 Bluetooth options. The Sena SMH10R is very popular and very dependable. Also, please note that the Sena SMH10R and the 30K will be installed with Peltor Earcups for maximum hearing protection. The Sena Tufftalk uses its own proprietary earcups. Some pilots have complained that they don't offer as much hearing protection as Peltor Earcups (standard on all 4 of the other comms options).

No: You can select any of the comms systems.

Yes: You may want to consider the Deluxe Comms and add the CB13 cable since it's compatible with many aviation radios including Icom and Vertex. If you select a Bluetooth setup, be advised that you might only be able to connect via Bluetooth to an aviation radio that already has Bluetooth built in. Check out Rexon and NavCom radios and be advised that we have not tested all of the possible setups.

No: Any comms setup will work for you.

Yes: The easiest way to listen to music is to stream it via Bluetooth. You may want to select one of the Bluetooth options. The Deluxe Comms has an optional music cable available but it only works in mono, not stereo and it will cost an additional $30.

Sidetone allows you to hear yourself while transmitting. Without sidetone, it's common to be yelling into the microphone because you can't hear yourself over the sound of the motor. It's a helpful feature that is available on all comms systems with the exception of the Standard Comms.

No: You don't need the Sena SR10 Adaptor.

Yes: You will need the Sena SR10 Adaptor plus the proper cable for your two-way radio:
